Listening to this gem while I get some house admin done.
Lately I have been spending more time in listening to physical media. It's a nice ritual, taking my tape player to wherever I need to be, taking out the cassette and putting it in the player, and then reading the j-card as the music starts. I grew up with tapes, so this is a familiar ritual that brings me a bit of light and comfort.

"Cassette tape sales hit highest level since 2003, new analysis shows. Sales of cassette tapes have jumped from 3,283 in 2012 to more than 195,000 in 2022, with the likes of Arctic Monkeys and Harry Styles all releasing their music on the medium.
....Why, for heaven's sake? Cassette tapes are awful.

Started the next Star Trek book on tape in my recently acquired collection, Probe. I decided to listen to them chronologically based on when the book takes place. The book takes place immediately after Star Trek IV, and so far focuses on worrying if the probe will come back, and the aftermath of the death of the Romulan Praetor. James Doohan does a wide range of character voices, and watching him voice the other members of the Enterprise is fun!
