My personal boycott of #CEX got even firmer today when I saw them selling a used #SteamDeck for more than brand new price. #gaming

Just had a failed transaction with #CeX and when I asked why, this was part of the response I got

"I would request you to check the IP address and please ensure that it corresponds with the billing address"

...what the FUCK are they talking about? IP addresses are not geographic, and they are not linked 1:1 with billing addresses!

Even if they were, only my ISP would know that. BECAUSE THEY FREQUENTLY CHANGE!

Mix of a Rant & Praise.

I got a used #Samsung #Flip 3 from #CEX in Sept, and Mid December the screen protector had started to bubble.

Rant part: CEX's warranty on foldables is useless and practically exempts the entire folding screen outside of it dying fully. They only make you aware of this when you try to take it back to them to repair.

Praise Part: Luckily it's in warranty still, and in ~7 days over a bank samsung have repaired it. Great service on their side.

My biggest concern about #DEX vs #CEX is the security of the smart contract.

Centralized exchanged usually require 2FA at withdrawal or even prior KYC. Not saying it's perfect but the lack of security layers at some decentralized exchanges is surprising.
