If they send you a medical paper to back up their own history (esp. if they highlight one single page with relevant info so you don’t have to read the whole thing) because they already feel your disbelief, fucking read it.

1/2 Had the #LEEP this morning and am having complicated feelings about it. I’m glad my partner was there. I didn’t advocate for myself particularly well, but it would have been way worse if he hadn’t been there. I don’t ever want to go back to that doctor again. If you’re reading this and are ever in control of anesthesia for patients, please believe them when they say they are resistant to local anesthetic.

2/9 I decided I’m going to document as much of this process as possible. When I went to look for papers, studies, etc. on #CervicalCancer or general gynecology and the Ehlers-Danlos syndromes, I found…absolutely nothing. Literally everything had to do with pregnancy and childbirth, or was a mention of menstruation for something otherwise unrelated. I’ve asked 3 med. professionals, they also came up empty. There is no information out there. So I’m going to provide some anecdotal info at least.

"The first #vaccine against the two strains of #HPV that cause 70% of cervical cancers was approved in 2006 ...in females aged 9–26 years.61, 62 Thus, the first cohort of vaccinated adolescents is now in their 20s.
