There was a piece on the (Israeli) evening news last night about the chabad rebbetsen (rabbi's wife) who is looking after many of them, among other things. I'm not generally a fan of #Lubavitch AKA #Chabad, they're missionaries and as the Rav Shach famously said, they're the closest cult to Judaism (because they think their late rebbe was the messiah), but there are places where they're the only ones there to do important work.

This is the audiobook I am listening to this morning. Fascinating to learn about the late #Rebbe and all he did in his incredible life. I see #Chabad do a lot of outreach to Jews where I live. For the first few years after I got my own phone I used to get automated calls from the local Chabad house inviting me to events. I'm not Jewish so I don't know how they got my number. I was always tempted to go just for the good food.
