@SANEAlex @dantarian UK is CCS 2. It's not going to be changing. Legally mandated. Tesla switched over years ago. All CCS versions are backwards compatible. #CharIN is *too* obsessed with backwards compatibility, which is why CCS Combo is such an awkward Frankenconnector (not that CHAdeMO is a pinnacle of design either...)
The only thing that's not backwards compatible is MCS, which is an entirely different standard (for semis).
The difference between US/EU/China/Japan is... frustrating.
@Aminorjourney Yes. It was *proposed* late in the same year that #Tesla had already *design frozen* the finished design of the #ModelS and switched to production (mass availability of #CCS, esp. Type 1, wouldn't come for another several years). And what was proposed was only 50kW at the voltages of the Model S (~400V), which was far too low.
It was, quite simply, too little, far too late.
Tesla later did join CharIN and has worked towards later #CharIN standards, such as #MCS.
