Mitchum was busted for #weed at a private home nearby the year before. He served a couple months, but the arrest only polished his rep as #Hollywood "Bad Boy" and made him more bankable.

It became public in 1951 that Mitchum was the victim of an #LAPD #conspiracy to show success with their "anti-dope" campaign. He was cleared of all charges.
