@targrus I hear you. So many times I stop myself from saying, “I’m not like other white/cis/het/males!” Of course, my privilege makes that not as big of a deal. #CheckYourPrivilege I always try to check my privilege, but am open to criticism when I fall short.

I got about two-thirds of the way through this article on whiny overprivileged white people and their "poor me" club. If I had any tiny violins left, I'd have smashed them to firewood. Two bits that stood out:
"The people I saw were mostly white; Paresky said she doesn’t really pay attention to the racial breakdown of the guest list. " 🤨
"“I’ve done enough psychedelics that I could forgive Hitler,” she told me."🤮

It's really disappointing when you ask a middle aged, middle class cis het white guy who you thought was "one of the good ones" to have a look at an argument they've made about a subject "they could have no idea about because they're a cis het white guy" and their response is to block you.

It's a total absence of protection, help or support from a national service that's supposed to be for everyone.
