Is anyone else starting #chemotherapy soon, or currently on it? I’m booked to start on the 21st. I have my brother-in-law as a chemo buddy, but it might be nice to have some fediverse ones too! Before I start I have appointments for a wound-related thing, a dental checkup, a chemo education session, a haircut (getting my long hair cut very short before it starts falling out), and a headwear fitting. I feel exhausted just thinking about it all 😆

Oleně bohužel tento měsíc diagnostikovali rakovinu ledviny a čeká ji zákrok na vyndání ledviny a následná chemoterapie. Chemo went pretty well today! My chest port behaved. We watched USA vs. Iran. The Persian woman next to me and I cried watching American players offer hugs and words of support to the Iranian team.

Then I managed to dump a full bottle of raspberry Snapple in my crotch, leaving me and the recliner a wet, fruity mess. I offered to clean it up, but the nurses said don't worry -- they deal with a lot worse.

Despite the tea disaster, I am simply grateful to be back on track. #cancer #chemotherapy

Last summer, I suffered a bizarre hand injury that has dramatically affected my ability use my dominant hand. I miss drawing, and I'm vexed as a writer who does better with pen to paper in first drafts. I'm off work though the end of December while I undergo chemotherapy for the third time since 2018, and I am determined to get my hand back to creative function before the new year. Where to start? I thought the scientific papers Meta’s #LanguageModel #Galactica cooked up were bad, but it also generates clinical trial descriptions for non-existing drugs by illusionary companies, makes treatment recommendations for #cancer and invents symptoms.
To a layperson the text would seem perfectly authoritative, as if from NHS or cancer.gov, but the cited facts on e.g., drug response seem completely made-up. Hallucinated recommendations on #chemotherapy! Revolting.😡
