For a number of years, I volunteered on a call centre for #ChildrenInNeed and #ComicRelief. On the whole, it was a lot of fun: the former was a lot of old ladies with the telly on too loud giving you a fiver at the end of the night and kids wanting to talk to Pudsey, the latter was mainly drunk people saying how funny it all was. Different crowds but a very good use of an evening, finishing at c.2am. Then they started to automate calls, so we mostly just say there taking no calls at all.

Watching BBC Children in Need and thinking shame on us as a nation. We have 177 billionaires in this country, any one of whom could fund everything that Children in Need does out of their beer money and not notice they’d spent it.

Then we have a prime minister who is with those billionaires as one of the richest people in the country drawing a salary from the public purse whilst thousands of families depend on food banks to survive.
