Signs point to a new Chromecast with Google TV coming soon. There aren't any more details than that available, really, but it seems likely this would be either a premium model or at the very least a next-gen version of the existing 4K model.

I tried the #fireTVCube with the s2yet up as the #ChromecastWithGoogleTV, but the fire TV only supports 4K with 50 or 60Hz which is too much for my TV. The Chromecast supports 30 and 25 Hz which is fine for my TV. On the other hand I get only stereo sound with the chromecast, but surround sound with the fire TV... 🤯

I absolutely love the TV - even after years I enjoy the picture quality of the OLED, but app wise it's starting to feel quite slow compared to new devices, which is why I tried the #ChromecastWithGoogleTV and #fireTVCube.

I'm trying to get synchronous sound and proper frame rates on the #ChromecastWithGoogleTV and #fireTVCube every couple of month and at my latest try last December I got it to work in 1080p with #DolbyVision, but on each device at least one app did not have synchronous sound.
Today I plugged the chromecast directly into the TV and used optical ouput to get the sound into the AV receiver and suddenly all is good with 4K in DolbyVision 😮
