"Rocket Bye Baby" (1956) is a great later Chuck Jones cartoon. Silliness surrounding martian and earth babies getting separated at birth. Amazing character designs and layout. #ChuckJones and #TeddPierce created #PepeLaPew in 1945 after several years doing #animation for the #ArmyInformationService. They were looking for an alternative to the violence of their work before and during WWII. They wanted a character outside of the food chain. My partner surmises that our 16yo #cat Rikki Tikki Tavi is deaf. I hadn’t thought of that but I’m going to pay attention & see.

Ps yes, she’s named after the #RudyardKipling story. The #ChuckJones cartoon was the only #indian representation I saw in the US as a child & passed the love on to my kids.
