Good to spot the seldom seen Black and Golden Cicada (Huechys fusca) at Upper Seletar Reservoir Park, Singapore, on 11 July 2022. Got a mating pair this time round too. 🙂

This cicada is a forest species and is seldom seen in parks. But this park is apparently near its forest habitat, so they appear sporadically.

Heard and then spotted this cicada, identified as Purana usnani, on a lamppost at Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve, Singapore, on 25 Sept 2021. I had to bear with the loud racket it was making while taking this shot from close range. 🙂
