And this is the city centre that you reach by riding straight on.
Even on a fairly miserable grey and wet mid-week afternoon it's fairly busy with bikes. A large proportion of shopping is done by bicycle because it's the most convenient form of transport. Also: parking a bike is free of charge.

Also, through a combination of having to stop frequently and general traffic, I find it’s quite easy to beat on the leg of the journey from the to my home. No big deal but it’s a good way of gauging journey time against other modes of transport.

Part of one of my is through the which has a road for use only by and . Some pedestrians tend to be very inattentive, particularly if they don’t hear an engine and are apt to step into the road without looking. That’s what my bell is usually for. Today, however, took the biscuit; some man stepped into the road, not just without looking, but with is head in a novel!
