In preparation for the record breaking high temps coming this weekend (going to be 90°F), I hath deployed the shade cloth. People with family across several continents, how do you manage to avoid long haul flights, in order to get to a sustainable CO2e footprint?

If I live in Japan, I'll want to see Europe and my family now and then, and if my Significant Other lives in Europe, they explicitly requested to be able to see their sick parents in Japan twice a year.

I feel like garbage, because all of that is really hurting the planet.

Due to covid + war, and the surge in flight prices, we haven't taken the plane for three years now, at least that's a step in the right direction for CO2e... but doesn't feel a solution...

I hope there would be more possibilities, in the future, to travel huge distances with train + ferry, and be able to work in remote while on the move. In this case, assuming that the job allows remote, long haul flights would become much, MUCH less necessary!
