Following my last post calling (again) for action on the #ClimateCrisis, it's also critical to highlight the global #ClimateInjustice and #inequality which by and large will see those from the developing world and from Indigenous populations face many of the greatest threats of rising sea levels, #floods, #droughts and destruction of natural and culturally important environments. Remember too that by and large, they have contributed a tiny fraction of the #carbonemissions in contrast to those produced by us in countries in the developed world.

If you want to know more on how we can move to #ClimateJustice, I would highlight the advocacy of Naomi Klein and for an introduction, this excellent and thought provoking interview with her in the Guardian.

Combatting #ClimateChange is clearly critical but in doing so we must seize the opportunity to deliver #ClimateJustice at the same time.

We can think of so many reasons for wealthier folks to focus on the REDUCE action of the #Recycling cycle. Economic projections anticipate that about 20% of gifts received this past holiday season will be returned. Each of those items consumed resources and likely contributed to #ClimateInjustice. Maybe consider donating or joining your local #GiftEconomy instead!
