ISO one or more recent authoritative sources to show environmental impacts of energy storage are lower than those of natural gas thermal generation (internal combustion engines) for an electric utility. Decision maker says battery production is bad for the environment, on the cusp of a decision to approve purchase of natural gas engines.

“Scientists say the incremental cuts that countries are making to emissions won't be enough to avoid a future that brings more damaging storms, floods and heat waves. The U.S. has a giant pipeline of renewable energy projects — 45 gigawatts of solar and wind are expected to be built next year alone — but continuing to add emissions from new fossil fuel plants makes it harder to limit global warming.”

My imported follows https://transformacion.social/web/@cedric/following include many scientists, advocates and (unsurprisingly) IT types, but fewer journalists and politicians. So you may get more nuanced conversations here, but less topical or confrontational.
