mirror - ID will make voting harder for Black and minority ethnic people, Labour MP says

I find myself agreeing with my MP, #CliveLewis that #VoterID requirements will make it less likely that people of colour, low income or youth will vote.

Many will be disenfranchised on 4th May - only 3% of 2.1 million who needed to apply for a Voter ID Certificate have done so by the deadline of 5pm today.

It’s not individual’s fault. Nasty, rushed #Tory legislation to solve a non-existent problem led to this.

@riggbeck they write them because there is an audience for them that has a greater grasp of the depth of the issues that are troubling modern Britain than Starmer’s front bench.

#CliveLewis is the MP for #Norwich South. #Starmer has said little that resonates with this #Remain constituency that defines itself by being what #Norfolk is largely not. Lewis is hindered rather than helped by Starmer’s ‘let’s not frighten the horses’ approach.
