After a rare summit of the Council of Europe, leaders vowed to hold Russia to account for its war against Ukraine.

Leaders of wider Europe approved a "Register of Damage" to document the damage in Ukraine caused by the Russian forces so Moscow could be held liable for compensation.

It comes after a two-day summit of the Council of Europe.

By early Wednesday, 40 countries had signed onto the creation of the register.

Kosovo has passed the first formal stage of joining the Strasbourg-based international human rights body, the Council of Europe.

The Ministerial Committee of the Council of Europe decided, with the votes of two-thirds of member states, to forward the Kosovan request for membership to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. Serbia, which does not recognise the independence of its former province, voted against.

A new report by the European Audiovisual Observatory of the Council of Europe finds that one in five private TV channels and more than a third of all SVOD and TVOD services in Europe belong to a US company.

US players are all fully operating on a pan-European level, serving numerous European markets. The Walt Disney Company, for example, has a virtual European omnipresence operating in 45 European TV markets.

The #OSCE and Council
of my Europe #CoE are working together ever more closely in the area of combating #antisemitism
and anti-Muslim
racism. Underlining this cooperation, the OSCE’s Rabbi Andrew Baker, Ambassador İsmail Hakkı Mussa and I addressed the #UNAOC conference in Morocco together.
