Back home now and a quick game of #WizardOfWor for the #Colecovision and I just had my best game on this version of the game. It quickly ramps up in difficulty.

I finally check this out on real hardware last night and it was far better than what I was expecting a #Colecovision to be able to pull off. Animation on a Colecovision is pretty clunky, but the rotoscope animations were all intact. The Colecovision does experience slowdown frequently, but it is still very playable. Check this out. This is pretty neat! The #SegaMasterSystem has #sg1000 support which is basically a clone of the #Colecovision. Somebody has made an adapter that makes Colecovision games work on it. I just packed up my #Intellivision and re-hooked up my #ColecoVision. (space issues) I couldn’t find my Atarimax flash cart, so I had to go on a dig. Here’s a shoebox full of old #atarivcs /#Atari2600, Intellivision, and Colecovision games. That’s not all. I have a lot more, but that’s what you get for now. #retrogaming

For those that don’t understand what this does, it’s basically what Nintendo did with mapper chips in the cartridge. The Super Game Module increases the RAM from 1KB to 32KB and doubles the sound channels to 8. No graphical upgrades though. #Colecovision #SuperGameModule

Time to show off the prize of my retro gaming collection. It’s my new/old stock #Colecovision. I had it modded to output RGB and modded it for composite video so I can still play Atari 2600/VCS games with the expansion module. I had it recapped with ceramic caps, and replaced all of the VRAM. This thing is good to go for a long time. #retrogaming

Interesting observation: B&W video via composite video is so much cleaner than color over composite. I’m guessing because chroma information isn’t being sent so there is less interference on the same wire.
