Just finished bingeing #ColinFromAccounts and oh my goodness my heart.

It should come with a health warning!

#ColinFromAccounts s1e8 (2022) - 8/10

1️⃣ Am I crazy, or is the dog a really good actor? Just as well he is. Because this final episode, like the very first one, revolves around him (Zak).

2️⃣ Also, since the show is a #romcom, we get a lot of focus on the relationship/romance. The big question: will they stay together?

3️⃣ This was a very good show. I hope we get a second season. I want to spend more time with all of these characters.

#ColinFromAccounts s1e7 (2022) - 8/10

1️⃣ Another really well-observed episode. It’s light on laughs, but the story is good.

2️⃣ Gordon meets Ashley’s friends, and they are horrible. And things spiral out of control quite badly.

3️⃣ But the real kick comes in the final seconds, and it has nothing to do with the relationship. It concerns the dog…

#ColinFromAccounts s1e6 (2022) - 10/10

1️⃣ Wow. That was exceptional. It was funny and cringe-y. Then it got super-dark. And, at the end, sweet.

2️⃣ The mother - like the ex-girlfriend last time - is really well-observed. These horrendous people are real. I’ve met them!

3️⃣ I thought this was just a silly romcom about a couple and a dog. Turns out it has something to say.

Best episode yet!

1️⃣ So many things are (cleverly) wrapped up here that it feels like a last episode. It’s not. But it would have made a great ending.

2️⃣ Really loved Yvette (#AnnieMaynard) in this episode. Really well written and performed. Frighteningly real.

Mostly serious; not many laughs.

✅ We’ve reached that point in the #romcom where complications get in the way. Consequently, the two leads spend most of this chapter apart. (She’s dodging his calls.) It works because we’re invested now and we want to see things work out for these crazy kids.

Very, very funny.

1️⃣ The accidently-sent dick pic generates big laughs in several scenes/situations. And the show surprisingly spends a lot of time with the old lady who is dying. And it works really well.

2️⃣ Very good ending, too, as the show moves the romantic storyline along in a big way.

✅ Does a terrific job of sustaining the best elements of the first episode. And it’s funny. It’s easy to like these two people, and watch them grow to like one another. Despite (considerable) obstacles.

Very funny first episode.

1️⃣ #Romcom with #PatrickBrammall from #Evil and #HarrietDyer from #AmericanAuto. They created the show, too.

2️⃣ The meet cute is definitely original. And there are several big laughs as these two (borderline awful) strangers get to know one another.
