OK, something from my #FamilyHistory that I am proud of. My non-Jewish gr-gr grandfather was a (white) abolitionist. After the Civil War, he would house families of ex-slaves moving west on his NE farm while they figured out where they would settle. Something I am less proud of: he did this in the belief that NE needed to be civilized, and he saw former slaves as perfect tools of #colonization.
