@grivettcarnac I'm a long time bike rider from Northern California. I remember ankle socks being replaced by longer, thicker socks by mountain bikers. People who rode both mountain and road would wear the long socks as a nod to their mountain biker roots. I was one of them too. Racing road races with hairy legs was also a badge of pride, but felt a bit stupid when you had road rash all up your side. #hairlegger was the term. I think Lance Armstrong ushered in the long socks phenomenon for the roadies more generally.
Haribo, who doesn't love gummy bears? I think these took off due to some propaganda from James Huang, AKA AngryAsian, who I wish was here. He would often mention them on Cyclingnews, Cyclingtips, now he's on EscapeCollective. But I mean, Haribo works pretty well for bike tours and other cycling adventures so, maybe it's just instinctive, even if ours are crappier here in the usa.
Gummy bears helped me #BikePack through the #ColoradoTrail last summer. Can recommend.

I didn't spend as much time dayhiking the #ColoradoTrail as planned, but what I did see was beautiful. Pretty cool to watch the train pass through, twice.
Have you hired or hired the Colorado Trail? Do you keep telling everyone what a wonderful experience it was? If so, you probably would love to join a trail crew with people like you who have a passion for the trail. You can do trail maintenance or even build new trail! All in the beautiful Colorado Rockies. Volunteer Trail Crews vary in length from one to eight days. Trail crew registration opens for 2023 on the morning of Wednesday February 1st at https://coloradotrail.org/volunteer/trail-crews/

This summer I rode from Denver to #Durango on the #ColoradoTrail. It was a life-altering experience. It was hard, beautiful, opened my heart and mind. Sharing.
