In #France there's a specific #cooperative form of company which is very useful for such #CommunityDriven initiatives, called #SCIC.

- #stakeholders have to be assigned to one of 3 categories : employees of the #coop, users/beneficiaries of it's activities or "others" (e.g., local government)

- each #stakeholder has 1 vote only, independently of the number of #shares they hold.

Three years ago, we launched the Sourcery project at AHA 2020 in New York. COVID-19 stymied our plans, as it did so many #research visits to #archives. But it also gave us an opportunity to take more seriously our archivist colleagues' needs and concerns when it comes to the challenges and opportunities of remote access to archives.

We spent the pandemic listening to and working with archivists. The result is a fully refactored application that will support both sides of the remote document request workflow -- that of the researcher AND the archivist.

Now at #AHA23, we're pleased to announce that #Sourcery will reopen on March 1st as a one-stop destination for requesting document scans from across the U.S.

Do you share my impression that people are tired of webinars? After more than two years of remote working and an inflation of virtual meetings, people seem to be less interested in webinars. At least that is what I encounter looking at overall decreasing registration numbers of our webinar and those of other organizations.

As an impressive new approach of #scholarlycommunication, I recently saw two virtual events that pursued the goal of being #CommunityDriven.

A really interesting blog post by Todd Carpenter addressing the issue of whether it needs more and more #PersistentIdentifiers or not.

Personally I rather see a concentration of #PIDs because some infrastructures (commercial or non-profit) will end to exist because they lack funding (because they received only time limited funding for their research projects) or are depending on the goodwill of commercial players, e.g. #GRID.

Discovering #mastodon makes me want to jump back into #linux again. Most of my work tools are all #webapps anyways these days. #foss and #communitydriven collabs feel so much more wholesome.
