@lkonstan That’s an important observation, Lee. One way to push back is by going beyond US. Unsurprisingly, Lat Am & hemispheric critics have always been clearer about the earlier period (Masiello’s field-defining _Art of Transition: Latin American Culture and Neoliberal Crisis_ is from 2001). Recent work by, eg, Candice Amich, Emilio Sauri, Patricia Stuelke. Michael Shea is writing a great diss on neoliberalism & 1970s hemispheric poetry. In conclusion, #CompLitShouldHaveWon!! 😉
