@c1xx @cloudron depending on the type of usage, if personal, small scale, #Contabo is great but do prefer at least the VPS L or VPS XL, of course the best is VDS or even dedicated and there you won't have any issue but in my experience anything below VPS L specs gets very quickly over the limit (biggest problem isn't ram or CPU, but more write access to disk)

So if you pick a good model, (NVMe or SSD) you should be good and make sure you always have no more than 40% cpu/ram used per cloudron

@q__nt_n côté sécurité c'est comme tout, faut être attentif aux codes utilisé en upstream (typiquement WordPress) et bien veiller à garder tout cela à jour (pour ça cloudron est très très bon)

Je fais une veille générale #infosec pour être responsable de ce que j'héberge mais la team cloudron n'a jamais foiré en... 7 ans...
Du coup bhe je le sens très bien ce cloudron ! Fini l'hébergement partagé !

@PeterCxy I never had issue with #Contabo TBH and I know a lot of other, much longer customers of them.

That being said, at that rate you might just be cheaper off renting a locker at a bank and buying the biggest nitrogen-filled CMR HDDs and putting those in that vault.

Depending on the amount of Data [you're talking TiB's] investing in an LTO Tapedrive might even break even...

Has anyone actually tried to use #Contabo Object Storage for #mastodon media file storage? I see the common case is to use S3 buckets, but Contabo is way cheaper #mastoadmin

I was having issues on one of my servers with I/O Wait time, writing to SSD disks at #contabo

Swappiness was at 60 (default Ubuntu 22)

Set it to 10 and now everything is running smooth!

If you use SSD disk, you have to 'rethink Swap on servers, it's outdated.

What's your experience?
