When your #sales and #marcom information aren't mingling:
* I buy products from your online store.
* After the order ships, I get a perky email: "No hard feelings. We cancelled your order." No explanation as to what happened.
* I receive partial order. I call customer service to learn an item was out of stock (even though site showed it in stock).
* I get an email telling me how to use the product that didn't ship.
This is how to irritate customers with content.
"Information architecture specifically focuses on things like your content model, metadata, reuse, linking, basically how you plan to organize and structure your content and what decisions need to go into the process of doing so."

Had some fun telling #ContentOps horror stories on the latest #ContentStrategy Experts podcast.

I had a great conversation about the misconceptions and myths surrounding structured content.
PS: it's not just for #techcomm and user docs; it can work for #learning content, #marcom, and other content types, too.
