If someone posts a long thread under a #ContentWarning is there a way of unhiding all the toots or do you have to do it one by one? #AskMastodon

@FisherTX14 @tarajdactyl yes. I’m the same. I have one or two other accounts but feel this (rather more #ADHD one) has pretty much become my main account now.

On hashtags if you use them in the body of your message rather than at the end it makes for a much better experience for #ScreenReader users as the hashtags have not only searchability but gain context too.

If you want to give people chance to skip past then a #ContentWarning is best 😇

(I respect the #Fediverse, and the recommendations for posting on here, and why, so I don't boost toots that don't use #ContentWarning, or #AltText on images.

My compromise is to subtoot with appropriate CW and Alt Text, then self-boost, to sub-boost the original toot.)

Again, pretty sure people who are saying "no politics" = a tiny tiny tiny minority of Mastodon users. Far more likely for people to ask for #contentwarnings -- that's their right. Doesn't mean necessarily that they don't want to talk about politics. Could mean that they want to choose when they do.

Experiment -- send the same message out with both a #contentwarning and without one and see which engages more people

I think all the newcomers to #Mastodon from the Bird App who are skeptical about or hostile toward the #contentwarning concept should have been told that the CW stands for Concise Wording ...

... that it's a special feature #ElonMusk hates that enables you to create a brief #headline for your message ...

... and that it dramatically improves engagement on your post.

Beyond the now outmoded #contentwarning debate, the design of the #fediverse is actually *too good* at keeping the Argument Clinic (and other things deemed "toxic") at bay.

However, people make the mistake of thinking that #Twitter was the *cause* of those things, rather than simply having supplanted #USENET and the #blogosphere in providing the space for them.

@SpockResists I think what people are asking for is #ContentWarning s, not silence.

Even if you are not for long posts it may help to add some relevant #hashtags to your post since some people may more easily discover your post if you use a hashtag that you both like, ie. #specialinterest / #specialinterests, #hotsauce / #hotsauces, #sauce / #sauces.

No guarantee there will be people actually using these hashtags as Mastodon is getting people alright but all people are not here yet and Mastodon server owners are struggling to adapt their servers to all new incoming users.

As a rule, I tend to avoid boosting images if they don't at a minimum include captions for #accessibility, but sometimes they are just too good not to boost. My point is: if you want to maximize your boosts, include #captions. Another great practice that I appreciate around here is the use of a #ContentWarning, especially for text or images that may seem benign but could be triggering to someone (e.g., food). Please be considerate of your community. It's really not a big ask.

The one about #Mention #tag @ & #ContentWarning

- Pay attention to who you mentioning in replies/thread, when making focused conversations. Sometimes it shows in multiple tags, you can remove or add someone to the conversation/discussion.

- Content Warning...I see that alot...in replies. The above #tip also apply, only remove them, leave if appropriate when necessary depends on the #convo. When an OP create an #toot with CW, replying to them will automatically add to your reply.

#ContentWarning. Done these posts before but I'm looking at others doing the same...perhaps some of my already posted posts need a content warning.

One thing I'm worried about is they may be upsetting.

I can instead make a new start with doing Content Warnings if I'm thinking and typing about Neurotypes.

One of the best things on #Mastodon has to be the integrated #ContentWarning addition. This is something that effectively creates #SafeSpace environment and culture.

Wish Post could have the ability to put posts on CW like we do here. I don't want to see any of his posts and I'm beginning to see them now on Post. Am not happy #post #ContentWarning
