Well, that's depressing.
And accurate.
Especially since I have been saying for several decades now:
What happens in the US, will happen here (.nl) with some years delay.

And that's still true :-/

I'm glad you wrote it.
More people are beginning to realize that we're in 'a bit' of a mess. If we want to (start to) fix it, we need to know how we got here. And imo putting things in a wider context is vital for that.

I seriously contemplated not adding any quotes, because you should see the whole talk to fully understand the context as #ContextMatters which also makes the jokes better then they already are.
If only it weren't so true at the same time.

But the account that posted it, is '100YearsAgoLive' where historical events are Live 'Tweeted', but then exactly 100 years after the actual event.
I hadn't heard of it before, but I LOVE the idea!

The problem that I have with anecdotal stories, besides scientifically/medially irrelevant (by itself), and with a lot of reporting, especially in anti-social media, is that it lacks nuance, #ContextMatters and tries to dumb down a highly complex subject to the point it becomes 'laughably' inaccurate. All to generate clicks/likes/etc instead of an attempt to properly inform people, which generally fails due to <30 sec attention span.
