My current crusade is to make the #FirstFriday of every month the day we all show our gratitude and support for our instance operators.

#BigSocial was sucking the life out of us. 100% extractive. Like a leech on our soul.

The #fediverse is additive. It is what we make it. We need to build practices to get in the habit of making it awesome for each other.

Here, if we do it right, we can have #ContributorCulture.

Way back in about 2010 I hung out with some SV 'executive coach' types. They would say things like "the amount of money you make is a yardstick of how much you contribute."

It seemed smarmy then, worse now, thinking back. They would now be big fans of Musk by that thinking.

But I often thought about how #ContributorCulture would work. Terrance McKenna and I used to talk about 'partnership society' and what it meant to "create meaning."

So, (as I waft the smoke from my sage smudge into the air), if the #Fediverse is designed in such a way to bring out more of the best in people and change the world for the better then I'll be doing my part to help.

I'm finding it to be fertile ground for #ContributorCulture.

Brace yourself for exponential growth, (and all the craziness that goes with it).

So let's be global citizens of the body politic and work for the common good.

And help #BigSocial bite the dust.
