@joyce I love Samuel Johnson, having been an English major and indoctrinated to believe everything he wrote was gospel (same with A. Pope). But in this, I disagree. I heard a piece by Sir Richard Branson (sp?) about who should play a violin. If only the virtuosos were to play, where's the fun in that?
