I think conservatives, centrists, and liberals equivocating and being unable to articulate a vision without tripping over their own language is part of the reason we can’t have nice things.

Generalized lack of self-confidence, self-awareness, and self-knowledge (“I have conviction on these things for these reasons and here is why”) is endemic.
