I think everything that Nicolas Winding Refn has made involves, in some way, pointing at someone being bought or sold for profit/power and saying "this is a human being and that's fucked up and here is what revenge for that injustice can look like". And I don't know if this was ever his explicit intention, but there's something to be said for dedicating a career to making stories about human exploitation. It's a good way to spend your time. #television #CopenhagenCowboy
