One of the dark sides of not so much working for a corporation as being in a corporation is the absolute loyalty expected of members. Not employees, but team members.
I'm sick, but I can still get out of bed on my own, besides "who normally takes sick leave because of a cold?". So I have to go to the office, although lately I rarely have to use the lab and I usually just work on my laptop. The boss sets a good example and also sits at her desk coughing and hiding her runny nose. Several other people also get sick at work.
The trade union is good for blue collar workers, for factory and industrial workers. Not for corporate employees, because they are not employees, but members of an elite organization.
So I'll spend the weekend in bed, coughing and inhaling steaming water and herbal tinctures. I'll try to read my backlog, pray to the gods, and hope that the Sun will be kind to me on Monday and I'll feel a little better.
After all, hey, in the office there is free coffee from an espresso machine for several thousand euro and, above all, a great atmosphere of friendship.
