Recommendations for placing a #CorsiRosenthalBox in a room with one window and some, not-great, cross- #ventilation?

In the door blowing toward the hall - sucking outside air in from the window and blowing filtered air, likely with some virus particles, into the rest of the house

In the window blowing outside air into the room (may as well just use a regular fan)

In the window blowing inside air out the window (ditto)

It's been over a week of a rotating team of caregivers being at my house 24/7 to care for my elderly relative in hospice. With #covid numbers going up here, we're nervous but trying the best we can to keep everyone healthy.

We have a #CorsiRosenthal box running in my relative's living area, plus two HEPA units, and one more HEPA unit in my living area at the entrance to theirs. Humidity is high, and so there are several A/C units going all the time as well, which hopefully help. We have an #AirQuality monitor that tells us a lot of info.

Relative is unable to mask, but all of the caregivers are masking. They are in earloop masks that look like surgical style but they are a better fit and quality than the blue ones. Husband and I are wearing #FloMask when we go into that area.

When you need a #CorsiRosenthal Box but you don't have time to go to the store

I made the #corsirosenthal box mainly so that we can be more confident resuming board game nights, by reducing the potential for airborne spread of #covid.

You can read more about CR boxes on the interwebs, but TLDR they work well per research by 3M and others. They make up for not being HEPA filters by having much higher flow rates and a large surface area.

In our house we run it on days when Witchypoo's #asthma plays up, because it can reduce concentrations of both pollens and cat allergens

I built a #CorsiRosenthal box in NZ. 50cm box fan from Mitre 10, filters sadly from Amazon. I ordered 50x75 by accident - I meant to get 50x50 - so the unit is taller than I had intended.

Interestingly Amazon.com refused to ship to NZ but Amazon.com.au was happy to, even though the seller was in the US. Go figure.

Insect screen is a prefilter because we have cats. Nothing sticks well to that mesh, so maybe use some other kind of mesh fabric.

Of course, despite the best efforts of many to convince us otherwise, we are still in a #pandemic. So for safety: instructor and all students masked; #CO2 monitor (720 ppm peak, not bad!); and #CorsiRosenthal box to filter the air.
