The guy who lives next door just so casually said 'hello, how's it going' like it was normal for me to be here. And it's only been since September, and I hide alot.

I went indoors and just cried.
Genuinely. His whole hearted casualneess about my presence was reassuring.
Now I'm doing another cry. ;)

This is the difference between council housing and private renting. I ended up in a proper local Community.

I didnt' pick who they are. But we all seem to get along. About 8 in a small block with a shared courtyard. They don't mind me.sitting out having my hot drinks and 'smoke breaks' with tunes..

Recent trip to Edinburgh as son settles into Uni.
Edinburgh Castle with Dumbiedykes council housing development in the foreground. They were built from 1959 to 1964 by Edinburgh City Architect's Department to replace Victorian tenements. The 15 individual tower buildings were refurbished around 2007 with a coloured render system applied (Viking Blue and Reef Green were chosen by residents in a consultation).
