Here’s a thing that sucks about losing #Twitter. Yes, it has been a mess for a while but in my region-not quite a #news desert, but let’s say, news arid- #CrisisCommunication is a mess. When #wildfire burned down 1000s of homes and threatened whole towns in 2020, many turned to Twitter and FB for drips of eyewitness reportage and relayed evacuation notices. It was a cluster-f and left so many people out. But for those who had it, mass social was immediate, a lot of people were online together.
