#CritiqueCircle update: I have completed the newbie checklist, which means I had my story critiqued (and can still be until June 23rd, hint, hint) and have graded the critiques I've had so far.

CC critiquing is quite methodical: you cannot read other critiques of a story until you've submitted yours, and critiques are graded, which allows you to get feedback on how well your critiques are received.

Overall a good experience!

I got two critiques on #CritiqueCircle! Both quite interesting, each for its own reasons. Makes me want to do more #writing of #ScienceFiction.

OK, so half the newbie queue on #CritiqueCircle has received at least one critique.

My story is in the other half 😭

Never mind, let's try that "behaving like a grown-up" thing they've been talking about.

One day left before my #ShortStory goes up for #BetaReader consumption on #CritiqueCircle... Here I am, waiting...

Alright, so on #CritiqueCircle, I can only grade critiques of my own stories.

Makes sense, I guess, but it means the person who grades has to dissociate how pertinent the critique is from how positive it is about the story. Not an easy exercise.

It also means I can only start grading once I get critiques, and that will be anywhere between 4 to 10 days from now.

Ah well... Back to colouring gremlins. :)
