It's like every not-made-for-TV movie these days has at least some scenes that are so dark you literally cannot tell which figure is which, or where the person talking is supposed to be in the frame, or anything.

And it's not just "we were 100km from civilization, hard to get enough lights out there". It's studio shots too!

Tonight's movie, that sparked me to finally say it, was Brandon #Cronenberg's "Infinity Pool". But it's all of them.

Enjoyed this a lot. In a near-future world without pain or infection, what is intimacy, art, change?

It has familiar Cronenberg elements I love: bespoke organic machinery, human evolution, drifting dreamlike eroticism, body-technology ports, beautiful decay of run-down buildings.

And the way he understands/frames physicality and pain means the fleshy stuff doesn't bother me.

#cinema Ho visto Crimes of the future di #Cronenberg. A dispetto di quanto ho letto in alcune recensioni, ho trovato il regista molto in forma, alle prese con un opera matura.

Il #film affronta tanti argomenti: Il controllo dei corpi (tema sempre caro al regista), la spettacolarizzazione dei corpi e del dolore, l'ambientalismo. Benché non tutto è stato sviscerato e molto è stato solo accennato, il film non pecca di superficialità, e la narrazione corale della trama risulta fluida e sfaccettata.
