Gone were her disheveled state she kept as an act of rebellion. Gone were her uncouth manners to keep the court at bay.
Instead we saw a calm and collected woman of unimaginable beauty take the king's side.
Even the flowers in her hair - a gift from her fay heritage now lay neat and orderly; the petals colored like the crest of the empire.
Soon, we'd learn to fear her.

But today it was close - just over the fields. I could see its towers, roof tiles, windows...even shapes moving in them.
When the wind blew just right, it carried sounds from the castle - soft music and whispers in an unknown language.
Tonight, I will dream of living there.

I've determined that if you aren't sure where you've messed up on a painting, take a photograph, you'll see every mistake you were aware of and three more you hadn't noticed. 😅
But really, the point of posting these is so a year or two from now I can see my progress, and work to make it a regular thing. It's been decades since I've done this regularly and the muscle memory isn't there any more.
