Presently, there are 4.07 million war #refugees from #Ukraine in the EU. 3 countries stand out as hosting the most refugees: #Germany with 28% of total (1,1 million), #Poland with 24%, #Czech Republic with 9%. Per capita, the help from Poland and Czechia is bigger than Germany's.

#BBC joins #Fediverse. Our public broadcaster - #Czech Radio - joined already last December thanks to @jancibulka. I think this is a confirmation that it was the right move.

#Mastodon/#Fediverse is really getting readier for newcomers with every wave. Last year there was just one #Czech public instance, others quickly started popping up, but it was total punk. Many users left, but the instances stayed and with the remainers they prepared a platform that is much catchier than half a year ago. Many people will surely leave again, but those who will stay will make it readier for the future wave.

Building a proper social platform is a marathon.

Remember The #Linux Documentation Project? Back in the day it was translated to #Czech and published as a book. 1000 pages. It was like a Linux bibble.

My daughter found it in our library today. This edition is from 2003 and it's like from another time. XFree86, Netscape, StarOffice, winmodems.
I guess at some point someone will have to start a new scientific discipline - software archeology - to study all those wonders of the past. 🙂
