I’m wondering if anyone in the general dice.camp fediverse is running a silver age ethos supers PBEM. System doesn’t so much matter but DC Heroes would be best

It’s game 2 of our #DCheroes game, we’ve just escaped from the facility that held our teenage enhanced characters. Our heroes are in the cabin in the woods and we’re surrounded. This is getting tense!

(4 CTD: this is what got me started here, as I was thinking about the exceptionally strong Subplot rules in #DCHeroes 1E and how they provided as much systemic reward as capturing the villains. Easily the best part of the generally elegant DCHeroes system, the space for them was cut down in 2E and I believe more in 3E to make more space for powers and punching. Which isn't a bad Supers RPG name come to think of it!

@SJohnRoss mixing characters and systems hadn’t occurred to me, but who am I to judge?

Hal, or any Green Lantern, is a great choice in DC Heroes given how well the system scales to that end and plays intO PC versatility with how Omni-Power and Matter Manipulation work.

5. this is where i confess i've been more of a fan than a player for the past twenty years or so. there are four campaigns i have vivid memories of. first was the "avatar" (played ourselves as characters) superhero game in jr high that spanned multiple systems (#GURPS, #DCHeroes, and #Champions 4e *at minimum*) when really we didn't need any system at all. if i did this today it would be either with #Icons or #ChampionsNow.

@LawDog I bought my first edition of #Champions back in ‘84, and sold it in ‘86 to a mate (it wasn’t a bad game, I just had too many superhero games at the time and I liked the #DCHeroes system more). I recently bought the updated version but, as with a lot of games on my shelf, haven’t had the time to read it yet. I’ll get to it, though. I remember I always liked the system 😂👍

@tomd1969 #DCHeroes and #CoC are two of my long-time favorites.
