Can somebody, familiar with these kind of #electronics, please help me to identify this transformer, which was part of the power supply circuitry inside a #projector.
A colleague of mine brought me his broken #beamer after, according to him, it had sparked out of its ventilation slits near the power plug, when he plugged it in.
I looked at the circuitry and it became rather obvious that the transformer gave out, as the PCB was charred around it.

Having spen a week trying to get this broken switch out I finally spent €12 on a de-soldering vacuum.
5 minutes later it was out.
New switch is in the stash somewhere, but now I'm wondering what else I can desolder.

The balance was slightly off on my #technics RS-D200 #tapedeck, so I took it apart to see if I can do something about it. Luckily it was very easy. There are potentiometers for everything, adjusting PB gain (on the right) did the trick. For some reason they were misaligned, probably by the previous owner. Now the balance is perfect. The belts and everything else seems to be in mint condition. #cassette #diyrepair #analogaudio

The 05 Subaru Outback XT (Blue Fast) is back on the road! To celebrate, I'm goingn to turn some wrenches on my newest project.

Say hello to Big Red! This is an 00 Chevrolet Silverado with the short bed/short cab combination and the LM7 5.3L V8. Picked it up from my neighbor who is being forced to move due to the sale of his home (fuck property management companies). Originally thought I'd pull the motor and scrap the rest of the truck, but under the crash damage and missing interior it's actually pretty solid. Sadly it's an auto, but a manual swap will only run a couple grand if I want to do that in the future. For now, I need to do a ton of cleaning and general repair, plus source basically a complete interior.

Should be fun!
