I realized that #DLNA may not support 5.1 sound properly. I found this out while I was watching a video from #Emby onto my Sony BluRay and there was no voice, because all was going through the center channel, which was silent.
I rather not want to use my Chromecast v1 because the 2.4GHz space is filled with overlapping channels.

Hi #Linux #audio fans! Got a mystery I need help solving 'cause I don't know much. Will try to be brief. Setup is remote computer sending DSD512 to 2 Linux distros #Xubuntu & #Arco (Arch-based) running #upmpdcli ( #UPnP / #DLNA renderer ). DAC shows purple LED when it gets DSD512, green if not. Get purple LED on Xubuntu, green on Arco. Want to get that purple on Arco. 🙂 Think it must be upmpdcli/ #mpd / #alsa config somewhere. Anyone interested & feel like helping? Tx!

I thought #samba would be enough to stream media files to my smart TV, but obviously I was wrong. I seem to need a #DLNA server, but I can only find full-fledged media servers supposed to be connected directly to my TV?
