There's a lot to unpack here. #Copyright law is broken. The #DMCA is constantly abused by IP trolls. And of course, stop using #Google This is what supporting large, centralized tech companies inevitably leads to.

#NewPipe is an incredibly important project and I'm sure Google was more than happy to comply with a DMCA request to remove search results for a project that actively works against their business model.

#newpipe has been removed from #google search recently. The homepage https://newpipe.net is not listed in Google search results anymore. This is due to a #DMCA. For now, only our landing page is affected.

#Google honored a #DMCA request from an Israeli company and removed a web browser for #AndroidTV from the Play Store. The request was filed because the app has the potential to access a pirate site.

This is obviously ridiculous yet Google still has declined one of the developer's appeals, and failed to respond to the second. How can they be this incompetent when it comes to frivolous DMCA notices and false copyright strikes? People are abusing their systems like crazy.

I found an account on #Twitter which is subscribed to #TwitterBlue and with the ability to post hour-long videos at a time, this person has chosen to share movies in a few tweets. I have a scrolled back to March and have seen fewer than 5 videos taken down due #DMCA claims. Makes me think understaffing may be an issue over there…

@vantablack #Copyrightmafia will want a word about that.

It's not 2010 anymore where #YouTube was willing to give #GEMA and other rentseeking "collecting angencies" the finger and tell them to properly file #DMCA claims amd go after the users cuz #OCILLA doesn't make the hoster liable.

But then again #FBI also went after #Megaupload despite them actually taking down stuff...
