I always take a pic of my dice selection before I start a DnD session as I have a habit of scatting my dice all over the place by accident. I use the photo to help me make sure I've picked them all back up.

Anyone else have to take such precautions before they play?

After failing horribly at CRPGs Neverwinter Nights and Original Sin 2, I’m going to put them on hold until I get lessons from my #dnd friend.

Until then, I’m playing #StarTrek Legends on #ios - a turn-based #rpg #gacha #game and hopefully an easier try at turn-based combat games in a universe I know and love!

After completing the first section on Original Sin 2, where you are on a boat called The Hold (it’s basically a tutorial and story starter) it goes to an island… WHICH REQUIRED A 13GB DOWNLOAD! ON HOTEL WIFI! WOOF!

I don't understand... why is everyone happy to pay for Baldur's Gate 3?

Has everyone forgotten that this is the same company everyone was enraged at?

The scummy OGL behaviour, the Pinkertons, CEO (and former Xbox manager) Cynthia Williams as stating that D&D is "under monetized".

I just don't get it.

Day 29, most memorable encounter

Last year I was the GM for few sessions of our #DnD campaign. I negociated with our regular GM to be able to use dragons at some point (it's Dungeons & *Dragons* after all).

Anyway, he agreed so I prepared a whole chapter set in the desert, and the final boss fight was a dragon, controled by evil forces, set in an old temple. This was so cool, especially the music I used as there was a sandstorm outside.

PSA: a #TTRPG is a spreadsheet with colour text. You can mess with the descriptive colour text all you want, but if you mess with the spreadsheet (e.g., # of dice, modifiers, etc.) you are probably going to break the game.

It doesn't matter that in the real world a spell could be argued to have a certain property or outcome. In the game, that spell is just a range of values derived from dice and you should just accept that mechanics don't 1-to-1 match the real world.
