@cadadr@toot.cat I switched to #Doom #Emacs. It is not perfect, but it is tons simpler. I couldn't possibly give up org-roam, so org-mode and #Emacs stay for me. I haven't had issues with org-mode - it's been rock solid for me - and haven't felt the need to patch it, or really any other package. I think I've overridden one function in mu4e and that's about it.

@schaueho @liw You make a good point. I'm not even considering leaving #emacs, but this is perhaps its greatest weakness and one of the best things #Doom and #Spacemacs bring to the table - post people don't even know what it's capable of because getting there is so difficult and the discoverability is so poor. I love Doom's keystroke completion popups.

People get vscode, and tick a box or two and it does all the pretty Git things and syntax highlighting. I don't know why Emacs can't do that
