If #MARCHintosh, #Appril2, #Septandy, #Suntember and #DOScember exist, what is there for the rest of the months? Someone should also make a custom calendar for each of these for each month 🤔

Today's #IBM PS/2 machine arrival: a very dusty Model 56 LS with a 486SLC2 processor and 2.88 Meg 3.5" floppy drive. #VintageComputing #RetroComputing #DOScember

So instead of creating one long video to meet the #DOScember deadline, but would probably have poor watch metrics, I am taking the extra time to release two videos: one to introduce the computer, and the second to cover the CD-ROM upgrade. Stay tuned!

My friend came over tonight to work on my Flash pinball machine. Yep, another hobby rooted in vintage. While he worked on that, I finished my restoration of a Gateway 2000 PII tower pc and instled a real IBM full height 360k floppy drive so I can use it to create TRS-80 Model I floppy disks.

Reading the multitasking user documentation for PC-MOS, and I'm quite impressed. Basic task management, Task IDs, security contexts, users, memory limits for tasks, task startup scripts, and even driver specifications for tasks are implemented. This was clearly way ahead of it's time and now that PC-MOS is GPL software, I wonder if #FreeDOS could adopt these features.

I'm going to stream on Saturday (31st) at noon eastern to see if I can build a 486 that plays Descent smoothly #doscember
Sneaking in a #DOScember post just before it's over... anyone recognize this and why it's interesting? 🤓 (Answer behind a CW in the replies!)
NEW EPISODE : It's #Doscember but it's also May 1992 and PC Review have 2 action games, 1 a movie tie in. They could not be more different except where they're the same. Also, your unmissable new year hardware buyer's guide. https://t.co/KNPnkjTxpN #yesterzine
How about one last #DOScember stream tonight starting at 7PM EST? I think I have what I need to take a look at the 486 board, starting with the area around the Varta battery... https://youtu.be/wUPiYJURA4c
More nice features in #DOStodon:

For 8088 machines, one fantastic upgrade you can look at doing is the PC-SPRINT. This is a period-correct upgrade (it existed back in the day, though it’s a lot easier to build now with pcb fabricators.) It replaces the 8284A with a small board that adds a second 8284A and an oscillator. This allows for a huge speed boost. Other features include connectors for turbo and reset buttons. I did this on my Compaq Portable 1 and it’s great! #DOScember
I’ve been a Mac person since 2005 and own a ton of vintage Macs, but I don’t really have any DOS machines to showcase for #DOScember —or so I thought! This is an HP 200LX Palmtop computer. It was released in late 1994 (I would have been 11 at the time), replacing the earlier 100LX.
This is a full fledged DOS machine. I took it with me to school everyday in junior high and high school. Wrote my first short stories on it. Great little machine! #vintagecomputer #HP #palmtop

This toot was sent with a Compaq Deskpro 386s, with 10MB RAM running #DOStodon! #DOScember
Wait I need One Million Six Hundred and Ninety Thousand bytes of RAM to run SimCity 2000? 🙃😅 #DOScember
