Nobody seems too concerned about the Cherbourg to Rosslare route.
I can't imagine it's a hard border. Just jump off in the Republic, head for Belfast and claim asylum - seems legal to me.

Pretty much everything that has now been agreed was there to be negotiated two years ago: flexibility on VAT.. state aid rules, enhanced role for the assembly in Belfast. All that was ever required was normal diplomacy at the high level and nerds lower down to do the nuts-and-bolts stuff

Of course, we used to have an excellent solution to Northern Ireland: no barriers or checks at all, & a Good Friday agreement that had been duly negotiated. But the DUP hate sharing power, hate border-free relations with Ireland, don't they?
The #DUP are the barrier.
And #Brexit.
