Some weeks ago I saw a lot of #dandelions with one or two little holes in the flowerhead.
After some research I found out, that little #weevils (Glocianus punctiger) might be the ones who made them. They lay their eggs directly under the flowerhead and the larvae eat the seeds when they start to grow. (https://www.researchgate.net/publication/311536092_Locher_im_Lowenzahn)

This European poor-man's alcohol is sort of a rite of passage here in my region. It does not taste great, but will get you absolutely wasted. The rite is kinda like going to Vegas: What happens while drunk on dandelion wine stays there.

In this interview Hafsat mentions that #Dandelions can be found on all seven continents, and that it’s really #Regenerative - in #Nigeria it’s planted in farms to regenerate soil! That’s why they chose it as their symbol 😊

#ClimateDiary am a bit late for #WildFlowerHour but after reading #RobertMacFarlane’s comment on how much #Cowslip there was this year, and everyone else sharing their pictures, I spotted so much too - nice how these conversations alert you, and to be enjoying this all together. And masses of #Dandelions everywhere too. As someone else said: it seems to be a yellow year! Though a few #Bluebells too 😊
