My MC in #DeathRattle is a funeral director, so I chalked it up to “research” to stave off my usual mid-mass panic attack. (I also joked w/ my wife that it was preparation for teaching Midnight Mass this week).

I didn’t get much inspiration for Neil, but I *did* figure out a path I could take for Steph, my #Tertiary MC, or for Liz and Sandra, my ‘70s sapphics in #DanseMacabre.

No matter which pathway I take, I’m just thrilled to have a new idea rattling around in my head after four years.

The last time I was able to seriously write was in May right before my wife and I moved. I knocked out 1k (for #Tertiary) in one hour.

I wrote 1k (for #DanseMacabre) two weeks ago, and now my brain is finally starting to clear the weeds and find a pathway forward for my trilogy. I’ve been stuck due to work and exhaustion and everything in between for nearly 4 years now.

I was forced to attend a Catholic mass this weekend, which got the creative gears turning again…
